Hi, I’m Dr Nadia Khurram, a Consultant Clinical Psychologist with extensive experience working with children, young people, adults and families across NHS and independent services. My specialist expertise is in understanding psychological distress in the context of relationships, development, trauma and adversity.

My career has spanned paediatric healthcare, forensic mental health and specialist work with children and young people, including those who are looked after, have experienced significant adversity, or are at risk of entering care. I established Yorkshire Psychologists in 2018, providing psychological assessment, therapy, consultation and expert reports to children, families and professionals across the UK.

My approach is integrative, relational and trauma-informed. I draw on evidence-based psychological models, including Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy (DDP) , and tailor my work to each child’s individual needs and experiences.

At the heart of my work is understanding what has happened to a child, rather than simply what is wrong with them. I aim to help children and families make sense of difficulties, build secure relationships, develop emotional resilience and create positive, hopeful futures.
