Hello! I’m Katie, a Person Centred Counsellor/therapist offering face-to-face sessions from Eastthorpe Hall in Mirfield, I also offer telephone and online sessions to those whom feel this is the better option for them, this also means I can offer therapy to people much further afield. I also offer ‘walk and talk’ if you prefer the great outdoors.
My training and qualifications:
- Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling
- Level 3 Certificate in Counselling Skills
- Level 2 Award in Counselling Concepts
- Level 2, 3 and 4 in Safeguarding
- Online safety
- School based trauma interventions for children and adolescents exhibiting symptoms of PTSD
- Certificate in Online and Telephone Counselling
- Understanding the Basics of Psychosexual Therapy
- Member of the BACP
My approach
I work with the person centred modality and take an holistic approach to counselling, focusing on you, the client. This means that you have the voice and the space to express yourself fully without judgment.
My belief is that you, the client, are capable of, and hold the power of achieving what it is that you want out of life. It is my job to try and help you make sense of what can sometimes be difficult to do alone.
Coming to counselling can feel extremely daunting, I know this as I used to be a client and have therapy myself, therefore, it is important for you to know that the sessions are in a safe and confidential space, where you can explore your true self without judgments.
With that in mind, I offer a free, 20 minute initial assessment for you to see if I’m the right counsellor for you.
